Wheatbelt Walk October 2014

An invitation to GWN’s next Wheatbelt Walk

Wednesday October 1 to Friday 10 October 2014

Great Walk Network Wheatbelt Walk

October 2014

Wednesday October 1 to Friday 10 October 2014

In the rapidly approaching October school holidays, The Great Walk will travel to the Wheatbelt a few hours east of Perth to visit some

remarkable rock outcrops and their associated nature reserves - Yorkrakine Rock north of Tammin, Mt Marshall outside Bencubbin and

Billiburning Rock to the north of Beacon.

All three rocks have connections to Noongar culture and our visit is sanctioned by Noongar elder Noel Nannup, indeed, he hopes to be

with us for at least some of the time. It's a great chance to hear about their significance and get an insight into the changes this region

has undergone since European settlement.

The co-ordinating group for this Walk is as follows so far:

Over-all …Tim Dwyer   mammoth@iinet.net.au  0437 286 462
