You and your family are invited to the next Great Walk which will take place from Tuesday 7th April to Thursday 16th April 2015. The focus of the walk will be on celebrating our wonderful Jarrah Forest and its endangered citizens, including the three species of Black Cockatoos that live in the South West. The first campsite will be in the Balingup area (tbc) with a final campsite on the banks of the Blackwood River south of Nannup. Day 1 Tuesday 7 April 2015– 7am - Bus leaves from Fremantle Train Station Car Park . About 230 km from Perth to Balingup, travelling via Bunbury and SW Highway. 1km before Balingup take the BalingupGrimwade Road, After 4km turn right into Ammon Road. After 4km turn left into Ammon Track and follow for 1km and then left down Menard Access Rd for 1km. FollowGWN signs to camp.

Day 2 Wednesday 8 April 2015 – Walk to Grimwade Pool

Day 3 Thursday 9 April 2015 - Walk along Bibulmum track into Balingup and Golden Valley Tree Park

Day 4 Friday 10 April 2015 – Walks around Balingup andGreenbushes.Art/workshop activities.

Day 5 Saturday 11 April 2015 - Pack up Camp and travel to Nannup, follow the Brockman Hwy towards Karridale for 24kms. Turn right at Poison Swamp Rd. Follow the signs for Blackwood River Canoes and then signs to Great Walk Camp .

Day 6 Sunday 12 April 2015 - Visit to Helms Jarrah Forest and the Black Cockatoo Rehabilitation Centre in Jalbarragup .

Day 7 Monday 13 April 2015 - Possible walk around Mowen Jarrrah Forest. Or possible option of Donnelly River Boat Trip (additional cost $60) and Overnight camp-
you will need a back pack etc.

 
Day 8 Tuesday 14 April 2015 Either Walks in Mowen Forest, or return of overnight camp from Mouth of Donnelly River.

Day 9 Wednesday 15 April 2015 Great Walk Sculpture Art Trail !. Choice of Short Walks, or Workshop/Rest Day

Day 10 Thursday 16 April 2015 Pack Camp, Farewell, 

Bus returns to Fremantle.

How to find campsites (Parking available at both sites

Campsite 1 at Jochen and Uta’s, Ammon Rd BalingupFrom Fremantle; The distance is about 230 km from Pertho Balingup ) travelling via Bunbury and SW Highway.. 1km before Balingup take the Balingup Grimwade Road, After 4km turn right into Ammon Road. After 4km turn left into Ammon Track and follow for 1km and then left down Menard Access Rd for 1km. Follow GWN signs to camp.Look for the signs to the Great Walk camp site

Campsite 2 : This is on the property of Blackwood River Canoes, about 26 km from Nannup. From Nannup,follow the Brockman Hwy towards Karridale for 24kms. Turn right at Poison Swamp Rd. Follow the signs for Blackwood River Canoeing &Great Walk Camp.

The Great Gondwana Bike Ride: 
 Saturday 18  to Friday 24 April 2015
Margaret River to Denmark (via Mowen & Graphite Roads and Muir Highway)
 
You are in invited to join in this fully supported event. Riders will have their camping gear transported from camp to camp. Great food, Great company.Riders can join for all 6 days or just part of it. Cost is $720 per whole trip or $200/day.
.
 
This event aims to raise funds for practical ecological restoration projects in the area between Walpole Wilderness Area national parks, and the Stirling Ranges   including the   Balijup Fauna Conservation Enclosure Participating Riders   will thus be contributing to funding vital eco projects in Gondwana Link  in the Cranbrook area.   
This event  forms part of a three stage ride across the Gondwana Link (www.gondwanalink.org)
Stage 1 in April 2015 is between Margaret River and Denmark
Stage 2 in Sept/Oct 2015 is between Denmark and Ongerup
Stage 3 in April 2016 is between Ongerup and Norseman
